Thoughts

“Goodbye Auntie Ollie” – by Lesley Goad You were our last link to Grandparents Beatrice and John, Their family of thirteen now together again. We gather here today to recall her escapades. As many hats Olive wore in her ninety decades! When young, doing duty to her country as a W.A.F. in WWII, One of the many helping to get us through. Then a Suffolk Ladies cricket 'star', a first-rate fast bowler of the best, And with a tennis racquet and hockey stick she could also outdo the rest. A theatrical stage 'queen' at Sudbury's Victoria Hall, Actress, writer, director, she excelled at them all. Being awarded the Golden Acorn for 'Services to Scouting', Teaching many generations of the young, with fun inspiring. Her sixty years dedicated singing with Cavendish Church Choir, She sang soprano with a voice we could all admire. Dear Auntie, the end of your journey has come, Your long Life's work has truly been well done. Tribute's from nieces and nephews from afar and near, With special thoughts and memories, but always a smile with a tear. Today we say “Goodbye” with thanks from everyone. Goodbye Auntie Ollie, Goodbye x

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
